Founded in 2008 by Matthew Lawn, whose coaching journey began in the USA, Football Squirts was created to bring the joy of football to children in the North East. What started as a local passion has grown into a thriving community of more than 1,000 young “Squirts” who have taken their first football steps with us.
Our carefully designed sessions introduce football in a way that’s fun, inclusive and full of energy, helping children build not only physical skills but also essential life skills like confidence, teamwork and resilience.
As Football Squirts continues to grow across Newcastle and North Tyneside, our dream is to inspire a generation of young players nationwide — empowering children both on and off the pitch.
